Ohio Direct Card & Produce Perks

Tremont Farmers’ Market is proud to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) through the Ohio Direction Card. Bring your Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards to the farmers market and obtain tokens which may be used to purchase fresh, local vegetables, fruits, dairy products, meat products, honey, preserves, baked goods, plants used to produce food at home and much more (No Prepared Foods).  Visit the “Market Customer Service” table to swipe your card and receive tokens before purchasing items. All other tokens purchased with the Ohio Direction Card are good to use on eligible items at only the Tremont Farmers’ Market and are valid all season.

We also participate in the Produce Perks Incentive Program of the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Food Policy Coalition. The incentive is a dollar-for-dollar match to every dollar spent (up to $20) using an Ohio Direction Card at the market. There is no minimum purchase amount to qualify for the incentive and as the name suggests, Produce Perks are only good for purchasing fruits, vegetables, vegetable plants and vegetable seeds and can be used at any market participating in the Produce Perks program.

The Produce Perks program is available every week at the market and there is no limit on how many markets you can visit each week.

The MetroHealth System is proud to be our SPONSOR.

The mission of the Tremont Farmers’ Market is threefold: to foster a connection between local growers & artisans with the consumer; to educate consumers about the benefits of preserving local agriculture and using local products; and to serve the Tremont neighborhood by providing fresh, high quality and locally grown produce in a fun upbeat environment that fosters social gathering and interaction.
