All are invited to bring your pet(s) to the front steps of Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ at 2592 W. 14th Street for a blessing. The short service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Each animal will receive a “God Bless my Pet” medal collar tag. Cats and other small creatures tend to be happier in carriers. If your animal companion has passed away, feel free to bring a photo or just bring them in your heart. Animal blessings are commonly conducted in the month of October near St. Francis of Assisi feast day because of the way St. Francis cherished all God’s creatures.
