Arts in August Exposes the People of Cleveland to the Beauty and Influence of the Arts

The event promotes the importance of the positive affect the arts have on a community and assists in spreading cultural artistic diversity. Join us for these free events and get a feel for the creativity Tremont and the artists performing have to offer.

DATE TIME ACT
Saturday, August 8th 7pm Verb Ballets
Saturday, August 15th 7pm Cleveland Shakespeare Festival
Saturday, August 22nd 7pm Inlet Dance Theatre
Saturday, August 29th 7pm Cleveland Public Theatre

Tremont West with our presenting partners of Ward 3 Councilman Kerry McCormack, Cleveland Public Theatre and LAND Studio are proud to present the 2020 season of Arts in August. It is different due to COVID-19, but it was important for us to be able to support our arts organizations during this pandemic.

Please join us for the kick-off performance by Verb Ballets – This event is SOLD OUT! We ask that attendees follow social distancing guidelines and wear face masks if outside of your vehicle. Verb will perform at 7pm.

The second performance will be a virtual presentation of Julius Caesar by the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival at 7pm on Saturday, August 15th and may be viewed at any time after that date.  Unfortunately, Julius Caesar is still under production and will be available for viewing very soon.  In the spirit of Arts in August, we encourage you to watch Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s presentation of Comedy of Errors from earlier this summer.

The third performance will be by Inlet Dance and presented as a virtual live stream only 7 pm on Saturday, August 22nd. Watch the performance here.

The fourth and final presentation by Cleveland Public Theatre will present the 2020 Student Theatre Enrichment Program performances of The Trail of Black Degradation and Rage Against the Machine: Artist & Activist Act Out! on Saturday, August 29th at 7pm. Follow Tremont West and Cleveland Public Theatre’s social media threads to learn more.  Watch it here.

Thank you to our sponsors, who have been so incredibly generous to support the arts in Tremont during this time: Tremont Trek Home Tour, Ohio Arts Council, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, Third Federal Savings and Loan, and John and Karen Moss.
