Multiple Art Openings, Food & Drink Specials, Live Music and Shopping Friday Nov. 8 from 5 – 10 p.m.

Walkabout Tremont kicks off the holiday season this Friday, November 8, from 5 to 10 p.m. with art displayed across the neighborhood, extended hours at art galleries and retail shops, live music at several locations, and a variety of fall-themed food and drink specials at Tremont’s restaurants and bars. Visitors can also enjoy locally produced art in many shops, restaurants and bars. It’s the perfect time to do a little holiday shopping, check out some great art and more—including a comedy show at Tremont Public Works and a poetry reading at Visible Voice Books.

Multiple artists—Infinite Madness

Everything has a touch of digital madness to it these days. With this show curator Barbara Merritt is hoping to hone in on the madness. The sheer vastness of the medium makes for a unique era in the history of art and creativity. It snares the artistic young minds of the early 21st century and peaks the curiosity in the experienced conventional artists that have been producing for decades.

The Art of Comedy—multiple artists

The grand opening of Tremont Public Works continues! “The Art of Comedy” from 6-10 p.m. exhibits works by Scott Pickering, Grace Frank, Kristen Richeson and live painting by James Quarles. The gallery and tasting room is hosting regional live stand-up comedians including Ryan Chernick, Katy Moynihan, Ray Roberts, Nick Harrison and Tim Cornett beginning at 8 p.m. The cafe features beer, wine and small plates by chefs Ricardo Sandoval and Anthony Vicente.

Christine Lewis—8 Houses

“8 Houses” is a show of paintings, sculpture, a sound installation and tarot card reading. Christine is an installation and performance artist, photographer, projection artist and more with her works having been featured at SPACES, Rooms To Let, Doubting Thomas Gallery, Re|Marking and more. She is a board certified music therapist and a member of the Lake County Astrological Association.

Lizzie Essi, Tessa LeBaron and Mara Fragge

Essi creates multimedia works using crochet, weaving and digital processes that emphasize the color and light of a variety of manipulated materials. LeBaron creates portraits, animals, vibrant landscapes, visualizations of the subconscious mind, and emotional figures using acrylic and watercolors. Fragge is an illustrator.
